So What is a Gong Bath Meditation?
It is a practice that aids healing by synchronising our brain and restoring balance and harmony in our human system.
Water is not involved in a Gong Bath Meditation.
Instead, you are bathed in the sounds and vibrations of gongs and crystal bowls. It is a sound bath that creates a feeling of profound relaxation.
Gong Bath Meditations alter brainwave patterns from the Beta (waking) state to Theta & Delta (meditative) states. Science teaches that meditative brain frequencies enable us to access our deeper subconscious and superconscious, which are key states for healing.
Sound healing is not a new fad. The gong is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. Based on ancient wisdom, gongs vibrate at the same frequency as the body, allowing the body to heal itself.
These ideas might sound a little extreme, but Sound Energy Healing is a physical phenomenon based on universal physical and biological principles called sonic entrainment, where rhythmic vibrations of similar frequencies resonate in unison.
The scientific principles of sound mean you do not have to believe in Sound Energy Healing, or understand it, to benefit from sessions. However, you may want to know what proof exists for energy healing.
Well, the sounds during a gong bath can be used to rebalance our human system. It has a profound effect on our cardiovascular, autonomic, endocrine and immune systems making it an excellent therapy for stress-related issues, such as depression and anxiety.
What to expect in Group Session:
Ideally, you will experience the gong bath lying on your back so you will need to bring along a blanket and a pillow.
All you have to do is lie comfortably, close your eyes, and relax. I then begin by playing the gongs very softly, increasing the volume as the session progresses (the volume never becomes unbearable as I am playing therapeutically).
I change the playing technique frequently so there is no fixed rhythm and entrainment takes place. Entrainment is a natural phenomenon by which the powerful rhythmic vibrations of one object will cause the less powerful vibrations of another object to fall in step with it – so brainwave frequencies fall in step with the gong’s vibrations.
After 40 minutes of gong playing, I start to wind down and play very gently for five minutes fading away to nothing. I then spend a little time talking you back to awareness.
The gong is an amazing and powerful instrument for healing work. I recommend that you take it easy for the rest of the day, allowing the treatment to continue to do its work. I also advise that you drink plenty of water.
Order of the session for group meditations:
- Light introduction of what to expect
- Setting the intention – a short set of exercises to allow the body to know the difference between stress and relaxation to help you relax and prepare for the gong bath
- 45 minutes of bathing in the sound and vibrations
- Gentle return to full awareness
- Chat and share experiences
- Q&A session
Out of respect to all participants and due to the sensitive nature of the work, doors close once a session has started so there will be no late admission:
A few things to bring with you:
- A yoga mat to lie on and a blanket as some people might get a bit chilly during the session.
- Please try to be on time – we so hope you can be there for the whole session and share this experience together.
- Please bring your honesty, your compassion, your courage and your fears, your dreams and your doubts, your joy and your tears, your sense of humour, your voice if you want, and your unique self.
A private session is exactly the same but I spend time setting the intention on what you would like to improve in your life, such as:
The release of feelings of anxiety & depression.
The release of old feelings of anger, fear or sadness which have resurfaced in your life and you feel unable to control.
Resetting your inner voice that won’t stop judging, shaming and criticising. If you are like most people, you wish there was a reset button for your mind. I know what it’s like when your inner critical voice won’t be quiet.
Providing a new set point for your consciousness to release feelings of anxiety and depression through guided sound meditations and gong bath meditations.
When is the last time you lost track of time and felt completely at ease and peaceful?
You had no worries or anxiety, no pain or agitation, no overwhelming emotions.
How would you feel if you were able to suspend your roles, responsibilities, expectations and judgments?
Sometimes we get so trapped in our anxiety and depression drama that we can’t see any possible relief from our mental activity.
What would it feel like to be able to turn off your mind?
Can you imagine a time where all your worries, your fatigue, your frustration and fears are replaced with feelings of contentment, joy, and well-being?
What would you feel like if your body, mind, and spirit felt completely harmonised and renewed?
When is the last time you felt acknowledged and understood without having to explain yourself?
Gong bath meditation is based on the concepts and laws of quantum physics and uses the scientific principles of vibration and resonance to instill a natural state of equilibrium.
My purpose is to help you overcome your anxiety and depression by releasing your habitual, negative thinking that keeps you feeling stuck. The guided sound meditations help increase your self-knowledge and awareness. I am here to guide you further along your personal journey.
The benefits of attending gong bath meditations are an immediate, easy shift in your awareness and a deep state of relaxation.
This shift is where change occurs. As a result, familiar problems lose some significance. Over time, you become less reactive and more responsive. Each session is unique and works to bring balance and harmony to whatever issues you bring with you. The experience is effortless and the results profound.
If you would like to reserve a place, please purchase your ticket early. Gong bath sessions are very popular. We would like to fit everybody in but tickets are limited so that everybody has enough space to be comfortable and so that everybody can be looked after.
